From YouTube Tutorials to Software Development: My Journey (2021–2023)

Sometimes, the biggest turning points in our lives begin with the simplest ideas.

For me, it all started with a dream of becoming a YouTuber.

The Beginning

Back in 2021, I was fascinated by technology. I loved experimenting with gadgets, solving technical problems, and sharing what I learned with others.

Instead of keeping that knowledge to myself, I decided to create YouTube videos.

I started publishing technology tutorials, troubleshooting guides, and “how-to” videos, hoping they would help people around the world. I wasn’t thinking about subscribers or monetisation—I simply enjoyed creating content and teaching others.

Every video taught me something new.

I learned how to research topics, edit videos, design thumbnails, write engaging titles, and explain technical concepts in a way that anyone could understand.

Without realising it, I was building skills that would stay with me for years.

The Video That Changed Everything

Like many new creators, my early videos received only a handful of views.

Then one tutorial unexpectedly took off.

A video demonstrating how to unlock an Android device using a Digispark ATtiny85 began reaching thousands of viewers.

The numbers kept climbing.

Eventually, it crossed 107,000 views.

Seeing so many people watch something I had created was an unforgettable moment. More importantly, it showed me the power of sharing knowledge and solving real problems for others.

Even today, that milestone reminds me that a single piece of content can have a far greater impact than you ever expect.

Building Beyond YouTube

Around the same time, I had the opportunity to build the official website for AMH Tech SL using WordPress and help manage its online presence.

That project introduced me to a whole new side of technology.

I began learning about website design, user experience, SEO, performance optimisation, branding, and how digital platforms help businesses connect with their customers.

The YouTube channel and the website complemented each other—one educated and engaged people through videos, while the other gave the business a professional online presence.

Looking back, those projects laid the foundation for everything that followed.

A New Opportunity

Between 2021 and 2023, creating technology content was one of the most enjoyable parts of my life.

Then an incredible opportunity came my way.

I was awarded a scholarship to the Java Institute for Advanced Technology.

Accepting that opportunity meant making a difficult choice.

Balancing full-time studies with consistently creating YouTube content wasn’t realistic, so I decided to step away from regular uploads and focus on my education.

It wasn’t the end of my passion for creating content—it was simply the beginning of a new chapter.

That decision allowed me to deepen my understanding of software engineering, programming, and problem-solving, laying the groundwork for the projects I would build in the years ahead.

Looking Back Today

When I look back at those years, I don’t see an old YouTube channel or an old WordPress website.

I see the foundation of my career.

Those experiences taught me how to communicate ideas, solve problems, build digital products, and keep learning.

Today, I’m working on software platforms, AI-powered solutions, and modern web applications.

The tools have changed.

The projects have grown.

But the mindset remains the same:

Keep learning. Keep building. Keep sharing.

To Anyone Just Starting

If you’re thinking about creating your first YouTube video, launching your first website, or learning your first programming language, don’t wait until everything is perfect.

Start.

Your first project won’t define your career—but it might start it.

Mine certainly did.

Looking back, I never imagined that a small YouTube channel, a WordPress website, and a scholarship opportunity would shape the path I’m on today.

Every step mattered.

And I’m excited to see where the next one leads.
